The Prophet’s ﷺ entering the cave on the nights of the Battle of the Trench

The narrations indicate that the Prophet ﷺ used to enter Kahf Banī Ḥarām during the nights of the Battle of the Trench, as is related from Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh that:

“The Prophet ﷺ performed wuḍū’ from the small water-skin which was by the cave.” He said: “I heard our elders saying: ‘The Prophet ﷺ entered that cave.’”

Ṭalḥah ibn Kharāsh said:

“During the days of the Trench the Companions used to go out with the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ and spend the night in their homes, then each man would go to his cave in Banī Ḥarām where he would remain until dawn, and then the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ would go to the small water-skin which is by the cave – and it has not ceased flowing until this day.”
